Grand General Parade of the Carthaginenses y Romanos Fiestas

The XXXVII Carthaginian and Roman Festival, also known as 'The Great Mediterranean Festival, Roots of War', celebrates the historical conflict between Carthaginians and Romans.

The Gran Desfile General (Grand General Parade) for the Carthaginians and Romans festival in Cartagena takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, starting at 18:30 (6:30 PM).

What Happens During the Parade? Massive March: All festival groups, Carthaginian troops, and Roman legions march together through the city.

Route: The procession starts at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, snakes through major downtown streets (like Calle del Carmen), and finishes at the festive campsite (Campamento Festero).

Spectacle: Participants wear detailed historical costumes and are accompanied by live music, heavy drums, floats, and replica war machines.

Extra Events: On the same night, the city also hosts live music concerts such as the Estrella de Levante Fest Carthagineses y Romanos featuring the band Siloé.
